Online lessons
There is so much value in meeting personally with my students in my studio. I love the one-on-one interaction and all of the hands-on activities that can be added to make the lesson come to life. I would even go as far to say that this is absolutely essential for a young beginner!
With that said, online lessons could be a good fit for some students in certain situations. If, for example, transportation or distance is an obstacle, then this might be a practical option! Contact me to discuss if this is the right fit for you.
Things you will need for online lessons include:
Device – computer, tablet, iPad or phone
Table or stand – The device must sit on a table or stand so that I can accurately see the student playing the keys.
High-speed internet
Video calling app – Skype, Facebook Messenger, Zoom or FaceTime
Lesson materials – All books must be ready and accessible. If students are playing from books I do not have in my studio, the songs must be scanned and sent to me before the lesson.
Pencils and sticky notes – The student must be able to write practice suggestions on his or her music.
Headphones – These are essential when trying to play duets.
